C Romeo (they) has over a decade of experience in the creative economy, event organizing, and an intimate understanding of the collective spirit of makers, bakers, and everything in-betweeners.

Starting at eight years old, C traveled from craft fair to street fair in Long Island, Westchester, NYC, and New Jersey with the family business built to make ends meet during the peak of the predatory credit lending crisis in the early 2000s.

Growing up in craft fairs for a decade, C learned the power of collectivism and interpersonal community building. But, C also learned the predatory practices of large market organizers and saw how these community gatherings were made inaccessible for marginalized makers, bakers, and everything in-betweeners.

This market was created to set the standard for how markets should be organized for the makers and attendees at the forefront and divesting from the way capitalism teaches us to exploit others for our individual gain. This is a healing space with a revolutionary cause.

A Big Gay Market was created to be a healing space for marginalized makers, specifically LGBTQIA+ community members, all to benefit one of the few spaces that LGBTQIA+ youth in our state have to see hope in action.
